We Raise Money to Give Back

Twice a year, New Harvest accepts from individuals, groups and/or organizations  innovative and compelling project proposals that seek to address the unmet and undermet needs of LGBT individuals and groups in our communities.  This is our mission, to raise money in order to support projects that empower and support our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.

Grant proposals typically fall in one of six different ares:  social service, social change, public education, health care, arts and culture, and development of LGBT communities. Grant proposals should address one or more of those areas. New Harvest does not fund projects that promote legislative change or those that support religious work or promote specific religious beliefs.  Additional limitations are discussed in greater detail here.

New Harvest Foundation makes grants to organizations that:

  • Provide services that benefit the LGBT communities in South Central Wisconsin.
  • Are not-for-profit and exempt from federal taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code, or who use a qualifying fiscal sponsor.
  • At this time, we are especially interested in supporting programs and projects that address our current funding priorities:  LGBTQ Youth and Seniors.

Currently we are accepting proposals for the Fall/Winter grant cycle; applications are due November 30th and funding decisions are announced by January 30th.  More information about the application process, including an online application form, can be found here.
